The story all begins when Akpan, a first year microbiology student at University of Abuja explained to us that students in Africa never ever get a chance to use the real microscopes. The total lack of equipment drop the participation of students in science and particularly microbiology, so we created a collection of next-generation whole slide digital biology sample, named after Akpan, to help students investigating insect and plants at 400x magnification On PC, MAC, Phones, WITHOUT a microscope. It is our hope that what we do can inspire more and more future scientists around the world, meanwhile, we should be grateful that how lucky we are to learn biology with the proper equipment in the UK/US and other developed countries.
